Sudabelt Medical has successfully concluded the first phase of the Sickle Cell Screening & Apheresis Access Initiative, delivering free healthcare services to communities in Ikoroduand Badagry as part of its commitment to improving access to quality healthcare for people living with sickle cell disease.

Led by Sudabelt Medical, the initiative was implemented in partnership with Noella Foundation and O.N.I. Foundation, bringing together healthcare professionals and community stakeholders to expand access to early screening, health education, and specialist referrals. The success of the outreach was made possible through the generous support of our host institutions. In Ikorodu, iCare Foundation graciously provided its premises for the exercise, and General Hospital Badagry opened its facility to host the Badagry outreach, enabling services to reach more members of the community.

Although designed primarily to support warriors living with sickle cell disease, the outreach also provided free healthcare services to the wider community. Participants benefited from genotype screening, haemoglobin testing, physician consultations, genetic counselling, malaria testing and treatment, health education, prescribed medications, and referral services where further care was required.

The initiative reflects Sudabelt Medical's belief that sustainable healthcare extends beyond medical technology to include community partnerships, preventive care, and equitable access to essential health services. By working alongside trusted organizations and local healthcare institutions, the programme helped more individuals and families make informed health decisions and connected those in need with appropriate care.

Sudabelt Medical extends its sincere appreciation to Noella Foundation, O.N.I. Foundation, iCare Foundation, General Hospital Badagry, Sickle Cell Advocacy & Mgt. Initiative (SAMI), Next Haematology Medicare, the healthcare professionals, volunteers, and every participant who contributed to the success of this outreach. Together, we are advancing healthier communities through collaboration, compassion, and accessible healthcare.
